We are delighted to have been nominated for the Intergenerational Partnership Award as part of the Mid & East Antrim Agewell scheme. The school was nominated for this award due to the special connection we have with the residents in Galgorm Care Home. The children in P7 and throughout the school have enjoyed writing letters, sending art and crafts and even visiting the residents at the Care Home. Very recently, the choir were thrilled to visit the residents to sing some Christmas songs. Back in 2022, the partnership featured on BBC News NI; you can view the video below. A huge thank you to Miss Galloway who has strengthened this connection and led the 'Buddies' programme with the P7 class. A huge thank you also to Lisa, who was with us just this week to deliver cards and craft gifts for the P7 buddies - (click here to view the gallery of photos from Lisa's visit). Of course, none of this has been done in search of an award, but we are delighted to have been nominated and we look forward to continuing this partnership which is beneficial to everyone - kids and residents alike! The awards ceremony takes place this Friday at Tullyglass House Hotel. Comments are closed.
