Congratulations to our amazing football team! They played great football and reached the final of the Junior Cup tournament!
The team finished top of their group, scoring 10 points out of a possible 12, and then went on to beat Carnaghts PS 1-0 in the semi-final. We were beaten by a fantastic Groggan team in the final, but we are so proud of their success on the day and they really deserved their silver medals. Poor Mr Bear couldn't sleep so we decided to make some ear muffs to help him! We investigated which materials would be best then we worked in groups to make some ear muffs. We tested them using a sound level meter. We hope they help Mr Bear get a better sleep!
A huge well done to our fabulous hockey team - they competed really well at the tournament last week and represented the school brilliantly. Well done girls!
A big thank you to Jonathan Smyth from Veolia for providing 5 apple trees and helping us plant them today! Great fun was had by all!
We had a brilliant World Book Day last week, celebrating books and reading - and the kids looked great in their fancy dress costumes. Have a look at the class galleries below. Assembly and Parade!Primary 1Primary 2Primary 3Primary 4Primary 5Primary 6Primary 7We have been learning to tell the time. We enjoyed putting the hands on the clocks to make different times.
Another set of well-deserved Mathletics Certificates in P1, with our first Silver Level Certificate so far.
P1 have been very busy in February learning all about numbers, exploring 3D shapes and telling the time!
Congratulations to these boys and girls - they have won the yellow wristband for showing great responsibility in school over the last month. They have been making very good decisions for themselves and for others.
Congratulations to these girls who won 4 of their 5 matches at the netball tournament this week. They played really well and were only beaten by one team - the eventual winners, Clough PS. They represented the school so well and we're very proud of them.
We are so delighted and proud to receive the Intergenerational Partnership Award at the first Agewell Awards ceremony. The Mid and East Antrim Awards event was a celebration of many organisations, schools, churches and volunteers who have made a positive impact in the lives of older members of our community. Moorfields PS and Galgorm Care Home were nominated together due to our strong relationship and we emerged the winners!
Congratulations to Miss Galloway, the staff and many of our P6 and P7 pupils over the last number of years - they have done so much to maintain the links with the Galgorm residents and they are always delighted to receive letters and gifts from them. This scheme has been so beneficial for pupils and residents alike - as the younger and older generation take time to consider each other and show that we care. Below are a few photographs from the event. Thanks to those who nominated us! Congratulations also to our Galgorm Care Home family. Andy, one of our amazing bus drivers, turns 70 this weekend and the children enjoyed celebrating this with him today! Andy was serenaded and received lots of cards and messages from the children. Happy Birthday Andy!
