Primary 2 had a fantastic day at the Ulster Folk Museum. We have been learning about homes in the past and we really enjoyed seeing what houses looked like over 100 years ago.
The Eco-committee harvested our potatoes and leeks and cooked a very tasty soup! Maisie was back in school to help with this and all the children enjoyed sampling the soup. Thank you so much to our entire Moorfields family for helping us to raise such an amazing sum of money for Angel Wishes. We were delighted that Mr and Mrs Currie were able to join us in assembly to receive a cheque for £7200 on behalf of the charity and we know that it will be put to very good use!
We were delighted to spend some time with Maisie this morning, as she steps into retirement. Maisie has been a Moorfields PS mother and then worked at the school for almost 24 years as a supervisor and classroom assistant. Maisie has helped dozens of children with their literacy through the reading partners scheme over these years and has always wowed us with her cooking, baking and gardening skills. We will miss her but we know that she's going to have a lot more time now to enjoy being a grandmother! Happy retirement Maisie!
Primary 1 and 2 had a great time at our first outdoor play day of the year. We really enjoyed playing together in the sunshine!
